Take 6 vintage acid-washed garments, deconstruct, evaluate for design, aesthetic, and conceptual possibilities, where “acid-wash” has multiple meanings and cultural references are at play. Thatʼs the recipe for 20-plus works completed over a several- year period.

The intriguing elements of garment construction and the beauty and variety of textures, colors and patterning in the denim "washes" were central in inspiring the reconstruction process.

This series was produced with reverence for and reference to our oceans and waterways, with special concern for the increasing acidification of our oceans as they soak up extra carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.  I’ll never think of coral the same way again.

This full collection was featured in a solo exhibition in Kansas City, 2012.
